I've Been Waiting For You

Another road sign,
Another cheap room in some motel.
It's not by design.
The coffee stained mug was cheap as well.

And all of my life
I've been waiting for you.

The telephone says,
"Hey! This is the way it's got to be."
A stamp on my case,
A plane ticket to infinity.

And all of my life
I've been waiting for you.

Each time
You're just a bridge or two away.
Each time
I see the darkness falling.
Calling, I will be calling out.

Another big deal,
Another fast lane to somewhere new.
And though it's a steal,
I'd trade it all in for love it's true.

And all of my life
I've been waiting for you.

Each time
I leave an empty room behind.
Each time
The alarm is calling.
Crying, I will be crying.
I will be calling.
Always I will be calling out.
